Wasena is a thriving historic neighborhood located in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia.

The neighborhood was originally founded as a “suburban” retreat on former farm land across the Roanoke River from downtown Roanoke.

Now, Wasena is a semi-urban gem. Featuring a stunning variety of single-family homes dating from the early twentieth century, the neighborhood streets reflect the architectural character and design sensibilities of another era.

With easy access for pedestrians and bikers, who can connect to abundant open space and recreational opportunities both in Wasena and nearby via the Roanoke Greenway, Wasena encapsulates an approach to living that is at once reflective of its roots and entirely forward-thinking.
